Abstract
Wear and tear is a process, which is related with the operation of roads, and regardless of the measures taken to reduce it, this process cannot be completely avoided. The surface layer of the road surface is in continual contact with the vehicle tires of moving vehicles and the impact of aggressive environments of various origins. The efficiency and the safety of road transport depends on several indicators, one of which is the degree of road surface wear. Now only to traffic safety, wear and tear significantly impacts to human health and the environment. In this paper has been conducted an extensive literature review of studies, which are related to road surface wear. New methods and materials to reduce this process are considered. Their results have been analyzed and systematized. Possibilities for using innovative construction materials have been examined, taking into account their specific properties and advantages that would allow their use as part of the road surface, in various facilities, and as road elements.
