Abstract

In this paper, the nonlinear behavior of a reinforced concrete five-story building exposed to seismic action designed according to EN 1992-1-1 and EN 1998-1 is analyzed. In addition to the required load capacity, the local ductility conditions are also met in the critical sections of the structure. Nonlinear static (pushover) analysis of the structure subjected to different lateral force distributions (uniform and modal) was performed using four material nonlinearity models (infrmFB, infrmFBPH, infrmDB, and infrmDBPH) for two orthogonal directions. The analysis was carried out using the SeismoStruct software package for seismic analysis of structures. The seismic performance assessment of the structure was based on the pushover analysis results for each applied nonlinear material model.
